Welsh Government Announcement on School reopening

As you maybe aware the Welsh Government Minister Kirsty Williams spoke at lunchtime today about the plans moving forward for pupils in Wales to “Check in, Catch up, Prepare for summer and September”
As she mentioned Local Authorities and  individual schools have to consider the implications of a phased reopening based on building size, facilities and numbers of pupils.  Schools will only be opening to accomodate a third of pupils(Maximum) from  school  at any one time, working on staggered days and times of opening and closing. This will give pupils the opportunity for some contact time with staff before the summer holidays.
At this stage I am awaiting for further information and guidance from Welsh Government  (due out next week) and  Wrexham Local Authority. This will then be follow by detailed discussions with Governors, staff and parents so I can plan how we decide to move forward with any decisions about the phased reopening of Ysgol Cefn Mawr from Monday 29th June.  Safety of all pupils, staff and parents is paramount.
It remains  the decision of parents to decide whether you wish your child/children to return school for this contact time when we have a clear offer to move forward. The Welsh Government have stated  Parents will not be fined if they choose to keep their children at home this term.
I will be in touch with you when I have more information.
Take care and stay safe,
Mrs Green
