{"id":5045,"date":"2015-11-10T14:21:17","date_gmt":"2015-11-10T14:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cefnmawr-pri.wrexham.sch.uk\/?page_id=5045"},"modified":"2016-03-21T15:40:41","modified_gmt":"2016-03-21T15:40:41","slug":"ecadets","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cefnmawr-pri.wrexham.sch.uk\/staging\/school-clubs\/ecadets\/","title":{"rendered":"eCadets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>2014\/2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>E-Cadets is an important part of our e-safety at Ysgol Cefn Mawr.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>E-Cadets is a national and international programme across over 2500 schools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pupils are chosen to be e-cadets for having great qualities, such as, being a good listener, caring about others and being a team player.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As an eCadet, they work as part of a team to advise fellow pupils on how to protect themselves when browsing the internet, using social media on smart phones and tablets, or playing online games.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They are supported in school by Mr Williams and an eCadet Trainer to ensure they have plenty of support in their role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All eCadets complete termly challenges relating to eSafety, earning points to help the school compete in a league table against other schools across England and Wales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During the 2015\/16 school year the E-Cadets were Ruby Evans, Aaliah Roberts, Rhys Cook and Jaydan , Mason Blake Haines, Seren Morris and Aaniah Roberts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They composed an e-cadet promise of acceptable ICT usage for all pupils which is displayed in every class, made posters on staying safe online, produced a video for National Internet Safety Day at Ysgol Rhiwabon and helped deliver a school assembly. The video can be viewed on our public drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One E-Cadet also helped a pupil who had her home P.C. hacked by contacting Henry for advice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The four Year 6 children who left interviewed Year 4 children to become new E-Cadets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sarae Williams, Keira Rose, Alfie Parry and Charlie Gorham.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We also welcomed Christiaan Roets, a Wales and North Wales Crusaders player as the school\u2019s honorary e-cadet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They gained lots of confidence and knowledge from the experience and it is good for the children to take ownership and help their peers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Out of hundreds of schools, we finished 9<sup>th<\/sup> in the league table in July 2015, the highest place school in Wrexham.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Mr Simon Williams<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>2015\/2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>March 2016<\/strong> &#8211; The\u00a0 Cadets have just completed two more challenges and have been awarded eChief Constable status. Da iawn E- Cadets!
