We received a phone call before the start of the school day this morning to inform us a Year 4 pupil has tested positive for Covid-19. The pupil has been absent from school this week but started to show symptoms at the weekend. As per Public Health Wales advice, we have to close down the Year 4 bubble immediately. This is the second case we have had in pupils this week which are unrelated cases. Public Health Wales and Local Authority are holding a meeting this morning to discuss local cases, obviously I run the school but must take the advice on these types of matters from the experts before making a final decision with the Director of Education for Wrexham. This is a concerning time for the community and we are awaiting the outcome of their meeting on how to move forward. I will let you know as soon as I have more information. This is a difficult situation and is going to continue throughout the winter months until the pandemic is over. I appreciate how difficult it is for working parents trying to arrange childcare cover at such short notice. Work will be available for pupils in Year 4 on the school app/ClassDojo and Google Classroom.
The School Nursing Team were due into school today to administer the nasal flu vaccination, but we are rescheduling for when all the pupils are back in school.
